About This Place

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Los Angeles, Momed offers a captivating journey through Mediterranean flavors with a modern, artful twist. This Mediterranean restaurant crafts dishes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, presenting a menu rich with both familiar and adventurous fare that celebrates the region’s diverse culinary heritage.

Step inside Momed and you are welcomed by an atmosphere that effortlessly blends casual elegance with a welcoming warmth—perfect for intimate dinners or lively gatherings. The space is stylish yet approachable, inviting diners to relax and savor every bite in an environment that feels both chic and unpretentious.

The menu shines brightest with its carefully curated lineup of dishes that highlight fresh, vibrant ingredients and masterful layering of flavors. Start your meal with small bites like the Whipped Feta with blistered cherry tomatoes drizzled in saffron honey, or the Avocado Hummus served alongside housemade sourdough pita—each bite bursting with brightness and a hint of exotic spice. The Muhammara, a roasted red pepper dip with pomegranate and walnuts, is another righteous starter, perfectly balancing sweet, smoky, and tangy notes.

For the main course, Momed truly excels. The Khachapuri—a Georgian cheese bread topped with Akawi and smoked mozzarella, za’atar, and a luscious baked egg—melds creamy richness with aromatic herbs, crafting a deeply satisfying comfort dish. The Grain Bowl layers wild rice, quinoa, a soft-cooked egg, peanut, avocado, and crisp shallots, offering a playful mix of textures and a bright pop of flavor from pickled red onions and fresh herbs that lingers long after the last bite. Meats are elevated with dishes like the Chicken Shish featuring serrano labni, yuzu kosho honey, and fresh basil, igniting the palate with a subtle heat and fragrant sweetness.

Dessert lovers will be delighted by the Baklava Pudding, a creative nod to traditional sweet layers of honey and nuts, reimagined with the refined touch one expects from Momed’s kitchen. Pair these with a uniquely crafted Turkish Latte to end your meal on a comforting and aromatic note.

What truly sets Momed apart, as echoed by locals and visitors alike, is the chef’s exceptional ability to balance complex flavors with delicate craftsmanship. Ken Seibert, an amateur chef himself, praised the experience as a "master class" in flavor layering and attention to detail, underlining the kitchen’s artistry and passion. Other guests have highlighted the freshness of the dishes, from the perfectly roasted vegetables to signature small plates like the avocado hummus, a crowd favorite praised for its creamy texture and bold flavors.

The welcoming, dog-friendly vibe and attentive service creates a relaxed yet refined dining experience where every detail, from the curated wine and cocktail offerings to the thoughtful plating, invites you to savor the moment. Though some have noted moments of busyness at the bar and occasional dish misses, the overwhelming consensus reflects a memorable meal that beckons return visitors eager to explore the diverse Mediterranean-inspired menu.

If you find yourself near 3245 Casitas Ave, Momed is not just a restaurant—it’s a celebration of Mediterranean culinary excellence where each dish tells a story and every bite feels like a love letter to flavor. Whether you savor the richness of the duck shawarma wrap or the bright, fresh notes of the arugula flatbread, Momed promises a dining experience that is as heartfelt as it is delicious.

When I heard the former chef from 71 Above was now here, I had to give it a try. I consider myself to be a good amateur chef, but dining here was a master class on why I’m an amateur. Everything was perfection! There were so many layers of finely balanced flavors in every bite. All the details were splendidly attended and the result was a testament to the chef’s artistry and love of food. We started with the crispy squash blossoms. They were served with a mint leaf and a bit of honey. The dab of honey meant there was not too much sweetness and the mint leaf precisely complemented the floral tones. The cheese filling provided just the right saltiness and they were crisped without feeling deep fried. The khachapuri was a delight. The crust was soft and thick with a salty-herbed finish. I’d eat just the crust and be happy, but the filling was outstanding. There was a (not too) spicy sauce, some Armenian sausage, an egg, and gooey cheese. We cut small pieces off the crust and dipped it like fondue until the filling firmed up enough to cut pieces. Yum! The Benedict was heaven on a plate. A hearty whole grain toast held a thick piece of fried pork belly, tomato, a perfectly poached egg, and flawless hollandaise. The egg yolk was a dark orange like a Japanese egg and medium cooked to that sweet spot between runny and gel. The hollandaise had bright lemon notes that balanced the richness of the pork belly and yolk. Maybe the best Benedict I’ve had, and I’ve tried a lot of them. For dessert (not that we needed it) we had the profiteroles. A light and airy puff pastry shell filled with a pistachio gelato and drizzled with chocolate. The gelato was full of pistachios and felt more like a mixture of gelato and frozen pistachio butter. Like everything else we had there, it was oh, so good. I very highly recommend dining at Momed. If there were 6 stars, I’d give it. The pricing was very reasonable ($20-25 for an entree), and I could see it being a good value for more. I came away full, but not stuffed, so the portion sizes were spot on. This will rise to a prominent place on my list of great LA eateries.

I was worried it would be over hyped, but I have to say the avocado hummus and sour dough pita bread was very good as was all the grilled vegetables and salads we tried. We didn't try too many meats, the crispy lamb ribs were disappointing, I imagine the entrees are good we just didn't have many. Restaurant is not vegan but is vegan friendly . The cocktails are conceptually interesting, not amazing, but thankfully strong. Venue is open space outdoors, something I enjoy very much however the back is literally up against train tracks, if you're sensitive to sudden loud noises, be aware. Overall it was refreshing good. I very much enjoyed my meal especially since someone else paid for it. Had I paid for my own meal, I'd imagine that the price is quite steep since the portions are small, you need to order more than you think to be full.

Love this place! The food is amazing. I had the meatballs and avocado hummus. Both were delicious! The service at the bar was a little slow because the bar tenders were plenty busy. Otherwise, I look forward to going back.

We had the pleasure of attending a shower at Momed. The atmosphere was festive and chique. We were served cocktails, wines, multiple dishes- all were fresh and delicious . I especially loved the muhammara, the butter lettuce salad and the chicken kebab. The pavlova and tiramisu topped off this wonderful meal. If you are in the area you must try Momed. You won’t be disappointed.

"Casual Elegance" is the phase I would use to describe the experience, the food, and the atmosphere. Dog friendly, which screams this is the right kind of people. Fresh, light, and delicious food and drink selection, highly recommend the octopus to start. Thanks for making my birthday dinner memorable.

Our waiter Patrick was so kind and had great recommendations since I’m vegan. Every bite was so tasty and unique, with sooo much flavor. Fun spot.

SIMPLY FANTASTIC- I had not been to Momed in about seven years (I have been missing out). Just went for my mother in laws birthday dinner. It is as amazing as I remember it. From the ambiance upon entering, you’re in for a treat. For four people we ordered to split the Avocado Hummus, the Carrots, Beets, whipped feta, the duck liver, broccolini, and the chicken wings. It was the right amount of food. We ended the evening splitting the baklava pudding dessert. Half price bottles of wine on Tuesday (large selection to pick from). Will be back soon!
